Carmelle Bareket-Shavit, B.A.

Graduate Student

Carmelle (she/her) is a graduate student in the Social Identity Lab. She received her B.S. from the University of California, Santa Cruz and was a lab manager at Stanford University before joining the program at UBC in 2021. Her research focuses on the psychological experience of harm from biased behaviors, especially as it relates to perceived intentionality. She is interested in how people take accountability for their own biased behaviors, as well as confronting those of others. Carmelle is passionate about studying racial and gender inequalities in institutions and organizations.
